Cleaning for a Healthy Environment
Vacuuming
The equipment used for vacuuming is the Canister Vacuum which uses a Hepa filter. Saxon Facility Services believes that this equipment is best suited for light-duty vacuuming because it is more efficient. The Hepa filter is efficient because it creates less dust, meaning our employees won’t have to do anything twice resulting in productivity gains and also cleaner air. The Hepa filter has 3 layers of filtration. Permafilt- Large Dust Filter15 lbs. of Super blend- Absorbent to remove formaldehyde, ammonia, etc. Hepa filter media- to remove sub-micron particles and allergens.

The Equipment used for office cleaning is Microfiber cloths. These cloths are 40 times the surface area of the normal fiber. Microfiber picks up dirt, grease, and moisture leaving the surface clean and dry. Traditional cotton cloths push dirt and moisture out of the way, leaving the surface moist and unclean. Many different areas need to be cleaned therefore each area is assigned a certain color of the microfiber cloth for example desktops are blue and washrooms are red therefore the cloth that has been in the washroom will never be on your desk! The cloths are then washed nightly and reused the next day depending on the damage and usage they are disposed of.

Another aspect of training informs our employees if tenants are not recycling accordingly than a report to management is made to investigate the matter. Recycling is labeled by a blue container with a recycling logo on it and by the light-duty employee is put into a clear bag.
